The 2016 Walk-a-Thon was a blast!
Thank you for your participation and support!
How it works
Students ask friends, family and/or neighbors to sponsor them. Sponsors may choose to donate a flat amount or an amount per lap completed. At the Walk-a-Thon, students will have a lap card safety-pinned on his/her back. After a lap is completed, he/she will stop at their class’ color coordinated table where a volunteer will mark off the lap on the card. Students will continue this process for each lap walked/run.
In addition to walking laps, children can participate in the activity stations. At the designated time announced by the DJ, students can stop walking/running if they wish to participate in the activity stations. Students can participate in one station or all, if time allows.
For every 6 laps completed, the student’s name will be entered into a drawing for great prizes! There are prizes for top earner in each school, top earning class in each grade level, and hundreds of participation prizes!
Students will bring home a slip of paper stating the number of laps completed during the Walk-a-Thon. Write this number on the sponsor form in the box marked total laps and begin collecting your pledges.
